This is the video for the insanely popular song over here, called Stereo Love by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina. It is a Romanian song that was released last summer, but it has gotten so popular all around Europe. I think it has yet to hit the American shore, but it will be over there eventually. We have been hearing this song almost everywhere we go, in stores, on the radio, and in pubs and clubs all over Dublin. And people LOVE it. Everyone gets so excited when it comes on; and it is so catchy that it is hard not to love! Me and my roommates were all just playing the song from each of our computers about five minutes ago. It's almost a little absurd how much we all love it. The video is pretty lame, but a cool song nonetheless.
Anyway, now that that randomness is out of the way, I'll update a little.
Limerick didn't help my sickness...by the end of the night on Saturday my voice was totally gone. I think it's getting better, and I don't necessarily feel bad, I just sound terrible. I hate losing my voice - and it happens like all of the time lately. I think it has also progressed into a sinus infection :( I have these lingering headaches with a dull pain, but it like throbs if I bend down or something, it sucks. And I sometimes get sinus pain in my nose and it's just really uncomfortable. So it looks like I'm spending another week being boring and a party pooper because I want to get healthy!
The girls and I also planned out our weekends for the rest of our time here. We only have five weekends (YIKES) but it looks like we are going to go to Scotland, London, Galway and Belfast. Those weekend excursions are yet to be decided for me though because I still need to START my 20 page research paper. I'm sure I'll leave it for the last minute like I always do, and then complain that I didn't have enough time to finish it, you know, the usual. But I am trying to get started...I first need access to a library though. And because the National Library didn't work, I'm trying to get access to Trinity. Worse comes to worst (or is it "worst comes to worst"? I don't know!) and I'll be able to use Larissa's library down at UCD.
Work lately has been really long...I'm not really sure if I am a fan of 9 - 5 work days. I think I'd much rather be in classes from noon to 2 instead. Yea, that sounds much more appealing right now. My first monthly report is due tomorrow, so I need to look over that again and finish what I wrote last night.
I went to the pharmacy today and spent like 30 euro on random nonsense that I needed. Things are so expensive here! I brought my lunch to work today and that was nice, so hopefully I'll be able to do that a lot instead of going out and spending 7 - 10 euros on lunch every single day.
Oh yea. Also went to Penney's and figured out that I am a size four in shoes over here. Which is really bad news because now I don't have an excuse to not buy shoes anymore....and there are some REALLY cute 6 euros shoes.............
This weekend is Fourth of July! I brought my Obama shirt to wear that day and I really wanna watch Team America. The EUSA program is throwing a BBQ or something on Saturday with a DJ and hotdogs and stuff. Free food which is good, but we may or may not ditch out on that depending on what our plans are for that day. Larissa's friends are coming in from London so we might hang out with them all day or we might go to Howth on the coast. We are gonna spend a day down there, we just don't know if it'll be Saturday or Sunday. I'm really excited! We went there for a little bit on our way back from Limerick and it was gorgeous. I cannot wait to actually spend some time there and put my feet in the ocean!
Another really random thought (today is a random thought kinda day, huh?!) I was on my way home on the bus and there were these girls that are also living in Shanowen and they were talking about the kind of food they miss from the states. They were talking about Chik-fil-a but all I could think about was Taco Bell and Qdoba. MMMM. I'm going to GORGE on both of those when I get back, I tell you what!
I really miss everybody! Especially all of my friends in Colorado :( I hope you all are having fun in Fort Collins/Parker (ahem, Chelsea). But hopefully not too fun because I'm not there :'( I hate not being able to do things with everyone else here (cuz I'm sick or really really tired), but at the same time it's hard for me to make myself go out with everybody...I miss MY friends and the things WE would do. I miss you people. I really wish I was there hanging out with all of you :( I guess I'm a little homesick in that way.
The same goes for you Daddy! We need to Skype soon.
OH! Another thing real quick. Somehow I actually snuck in my camera to the Four Courts yesterday. I guess the security guards weren't paying attention to purse or something, and I totally forgot that I had it in my purse. I wanted to take pictures while in there but I didn't want to get in trouble and there were security cameras and stuff...figured it wouldn't be worth getting arrested or something. Oh well. I'll try to get some pictures of the outside or something.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed that video!
Talk to you soon.
;)
