Hello everybody!!
So I've had a couple of interesting and off topic posts the last couple of days so I'll update everyone on what I've been doing lately and what's going on.
This work week is pretty much over for me! We've just been doing normal things in the office (filing, organzing files, that kind of stuff) so nothing too terribly exciting. I didn't go to work today (I was feeling really super sick this morning and called in and then slept in some more) and I'm pretty sure we don't have to go to work tomorrow. Our boss is presenting a case in Dundalk so she won't even be in Dublin tomorrow. Looks like I am going to get a four day weekend, yay!
I've been slacking on researching too :/ I keep meaning to go to the library after work, but it's really hard to get the motivation to do so. I am just so pooped when I get off of work, that researching for a while just doesn't sound appealing when I finally do get off. And it was raining the last couple of days after work so I didn't want to walk down there in the rain. It's really bad because I know I need to get this stuff done, but I am just so good at procrastinating! And I always find some excuse for not going...but hopefully I'll kick this habit soon (I only have two more full weeks to work on it...yikes!).
Tomorrow the girls and I are leaving for Belfast in Northern Ireland for the weekend. That will be a lot of fun, and I'm super excited. We are doing a bus tour of Giant's Causeway and all of the cool things up north. We are leaving after everyone gets off work, so I'm hoping that I'll have the motivation in the morning to get up early and head down to the City Centre and spend some time in the library before lunch. Then I need to pack. Still don't know what I'm going to bring, but I'll figure that out when I need to.
Cool. Well that's what's been happening. Nothing too exciting. And obviously I won't be able to post while I'm in Belfast this weekend, so expect something tomorrow (hopefully) and if not then on Sunday.
Anywhos!
Last night the girls and I went to The Comet just right down the street after work and we had dinner and then stayed there for some pints afterward. It was a really easy going night, but we all had a lot of fun. We even sat at a table where we could pour our own pints! For some reason one of the bartenders poured Alyssa and Amanda's pints from that table and then let us sit there for the night. He also gave us a free pizza. Cool! That was a lot of fun. But they only have Guinness and Carlsberg on tap at the table so I had to order my Bulmers (and Kopparbergs) from the bar.
It's really cool, so they have this digital tracker that tracks how many pints we have poured while sitting there, so we know how much to pay at the end of the night. It was fun!

This is Jen after successfully pouring her own pint of Guinness! She was really happy about that. And Guinness's have to be poured in this special way too, so it isn't as easy as just pouring a regular beer.
What you gotta do is pour the Guinness about 3/4 full and then let it sit, while the beer slowly settles. After the "ruby red" color starts becoming more clear, you can top the rest of your pint off! Like we learned, it takes 119 seconds to pour a good Guinness.
My Goodness, my Guinness!
I even poured one of Alyssa's Guinness's so I could try doing it myself. And it was cool! I officially poured a pint of Guinness in a pub in Ireland! How cool is that?! It's awesome!
So...last night was a successful night! Definitely a lot of fun.
Annnnnnnnd that is it for tonight. I'll try to post a blog tomorrow before we leave for Belfast!
Until then.
;)
